FUWUKARI Matriculates 1,591 Students For 2016/2017 Academic Session

One thousand five hundred and ninety one (1,591) students were admitted into various departments, spread across three faculties of
the Federal University Wukari for the 2016/2017 academic session and were administered with oaths of allegiance during the 6th matriculation ceremony held on Saturday 21st January, 2017.

At a brief but colourful event, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Abubakar Musa Kundiri advised the students to work in line with
the University’s tenet of achieving academic excellence.

Prof. Kundiri who expressed the institution’s resolve on public conduct of students said Management of the University will not condone indecency of any form as perpetrators of deviant behaviors would be appropriately disciplined.

The Vice-Chancellor while promising to help the students achieve their dreams announced that the University plans to introduce welfare
packages for students.

Some of the packages, according to the Vice-Chancellor are Group Personal Insurance policy to cover students’ natural and accidental cases and Students’ Benevolent Fund that will provide relief on certain financial challenges of less
privileged students.

To improve provision of infrastructure, Prof.Kundiri said many ongoing physical projects in
the University would be soon completed and adequately equipped to make learning conducive for the students.

Three hundred and nine matriculates were from Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Seven hundred and seventy five from Faculty of
Humanities, Management and Social Sciences While five hundred and seven students in the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences.
