Tips On How To Cope In a Class Where You Don't Comprehend The lecturer.

1. CONCENTRATION: Concentration is the key to avoiding distraction. No matter how difficult it is for you to understand a lecturer, if you definitely concentrate well, you will grab key points from what is being discussed which will help in
digesting when you review the work done after class. How do you get concentrated? Zero your mind from any other thoughts.

And focus well on understanding what is being taught within that time frame. Maintain eye contact with the
lecturer and nod occasionally to make sure you are alive.

2. GET USED TO ADAPTATION: All lecturers are not equal. Not all lectures a student will find interesting and not all will be boring. Different lecturers with different styles and lecturing methods.

As a student you should be able to
adapt to different classes once you can adapt to a lecturer's style then it shouldn't be difficult for you to understand him.

And a lecturer is likely to take you throughout a section so you should know how to prepare ahead of his class, what to bring along and how to understand what he will be saying as per developing your listening skills.

An instance is when a lecturer speaks too fast if you would need voice recording gadget to grab
what he says.

3. PERSONAL RESEARCH : To boost your chances of understanding the lecturer it requires your personal devotion. As a student, you need
to read ahead, make researches and be updated before the class.

So, it becomes easier to understand the lecturer in class as you are already acquainted with the terms and the topic to be discussed in class. In this case, course outline is very important.

4. LIKING LECTURERS: It is a simple rule. Someone you like is who your mind will be attached to. You would always demanding to listen him/her as you are then giving out your
total attention.

But if you don't like a lecturer you are wasting your time in his class. For You to understand a lecturer, like him even when what he is saying is strange you will approach the matter with enthusiasm reason being that you like him.
As a result of this, you can easily ask questions from him to gain more knowledge.

Thus, it is advisable for you to just like the lecturer, then you will understand him.

5. BE BRAVE: Bravery is the best response to anything you can hear about a lecturer. Whether he is tough, slow, too fast, or whatever don't Be frightened that you might not understand him.

Your lecturers are not worriors of heaven nor angels. Be brave! And learn from what you heard of him. Again, sort out a way to understand him.

6. UNDERSTAND WHY YOU DONT
UNDERSTAND: when you try to estimate yourself know why you can't understand the lecturer it
would be easier to adjust and make things right.
